The settings area is where you define various configuration options required by the program. A detailed setup example is here. The images tab allows you to define the default image source directory and the thumbnail information. The appearance of your web pages is controlled by the HTML customization file. Image Source Directory Click the 'Select' button to specify the image source directory. The path specified here is simply the default value. You can always change the location, as it's required, elsewhere in the program as it's needed. Normally, this should be the same as your camera's default output directory. Back to the top Thumbnail Quality Specify the JPG quality. This is a number between 0 (lowest quality) and 100 (highest quality). If you're unsure what you should enter here, use 95. JPG files are smaller that normal image files because they're compressed - the higher the compression, the smaller the file size. However, there's a trade-off: as the compression increases, the image quality decreases. High JPG quality = low compression = big file size = nice looking images Low JPG quality = high compression = small file size = bad looking images The goal with specifying the JPG quality is to reach a compromise between small file size and acceptable image quality. If, for example, you specify a JPG quality of 0 you'll have very small files (good) but the image quality will be lacking (bad). A JPG quality of 100 will produce huge files (bad), but the image quality will be near perfect (good). Back to the top Thumbnail Width Specify the default thumbnail width, in pixels. Thumbnails always have the same aspect ratio as the original image. Because of this, it's possible that the thumbnail will be sized based on the thumbnail height with the actual width differing from what you specify here. Back to the top Thumbnail Height Specify the default thumbnail height, in pixels. Thumbnails always have the same aspect ratio as the original image. Because of this, it's possible that the thumbnail will be sized based on the thumbnail width with the actual height differing from what you specify here. Back to the top Thumbnail Table Width Specify the desired width of the thumbnail table, in pixels. This value should typically be a number (like 640) that will be compatible with most screen sizes. If the width of the thumbnail table is larger than the user's screen, scrolling will be required. You probably don't want that. The number of thumbnail images per row will depend on the thumbnail width and what you specify here. For example, if you specify a thumbnail width of 100 and a thumbnail table width of 500, there will be 5 thumbnail images per row. If there's 20 total images, there will be 4 rows. From the HTML customization screen, you can override these values by forcing either a single row or a single column. You would typically want to do that if your HTML template files use frames with left/right or top/bottom schemes. If you're georeferencing images and if you don't specify the AreaMapWidth Misc Option, the width of the area map will be based on the thumbnail table width.
